The 100 Burpee Challenge (Part 2 of 4)

It’s day 56 of the 100 Burpee Challenge and things are going okay. I haven’t missed a day so far, even while I was on vacation with the family! My pace is pretty good and I am about on track to be able to do the 100 in less than 5 minutes. It is getting harder by the day. I’ll keep at it though.

100 burpee challenge[I don't know what exercise this is but this guy in front is sure going at it hard! I wonder if he landed on his feet or his face?]

One thing that I have noticed is that I can really do more Burpees in a row than I thought I could. It’s a mental thing for me. When I push through the pain and tiredness I find that I can surprise myself. Plus my stamina is increasing.

Video: Me Doing 50 Burpees

Here’s the video of me on day 50 doing 50 Burpees as fast as I could. I did this on Saturday, June 19th around 4:00 in the afternoon:

A Couple Of Notes About The Video:

I say that it is day 50 of the 50 Burpee Challenge – I meant 100 Burpee Challenge. This was the first time I ever completed 50 Burpees in a row without stopping. I did this in the fitness room of the resort that we were staying at on vacation. I know that you can’t see me when I go down but I did chest to the floor on each push-up.

I didn’t jump as high as I did on the first 25 but I did get off of the floor every time. I hit the wrong button on my watch to time my progress so I just timed myself off of the video. It took me about 2:38 which is just over the 5 minute pace that I want to keep.

The 100 Burpee Challenge is over halfway done. So far it has been okay but I anticipate that it will start getting more difficult as the number gets higher. It is getting harder but I guess I just have to work harder so my stamina increases. Keep at it everyone and I’ll post the video on day 75. Do all you can to Get Fit and Get Lean!

    David,
Great job keeping up with this. It’s great that you even did this during vacation. Do you try to maintain a weight lifting program as well or have burpees supplanted it?

      Dave,

I am still finishing up Visual Impact. I have fallen off the wagon a little as I have moved the last month and it’s taken some time to get situated. But the Burpees have been a great supplement/substitute to working out.

Way to go, bud! I’m pretty spent after about 25 burpees. You’re inspiring me to bring that number up. :-)

      Darrin,

I am still spent after 25 but I have found that I can push through it and go further than I thought. I have never done 75 or 100 in a row without stopping so that should be fun!

  6. Nice post – I think I will incorporate this into a VI workout. Would you do it as a warm up, or at the end – I’m thinking at the end.
